Cockroaches are seen mostly at night and tend to hide during the day. They come out in search of food and eat will most things. They have a food poisoning germ on their bodies and in their droppings and they spread a bacteria which can cause food poisoning, asthma and eczema.

Cockroaches like to live in warm, humid spots so you will find them in kitchens around ovens and warm pipes. They breed rapidly and can move extremely fast. There are two types generally found in the UK, the Oriental and the German cockroach. They both enjoy a warm environment but it is the German that can move around much more because of its ability to fly, swim and climb flat surfaces.
