Fleas
The most common fleas are cat fleas, but there are also fleas commonly found with dogs, birds, chickens and rabbits.
Fleas feed on blood which they get from any warm blooded animal, including people. Flea bites will create itch spots and can cause a rash or an irritation.
Fleas can jump around 6 inches high and 12 inches along the ground. They have short spines on their body which help them attach themselves to animals and humans.
It is not easy to eliminate fleas. We do this by first of all preparing the house and the animals/people who live there. Pets should be given their flea treatment, clothing and bedding should be washed in a hot wash. All floors and surfaces need to be thoroughly cleaned.
We can then treat each room in the property (this may take about 1-2 hours depending on the size of the property). We then ask you not to use the treated rooms for a couple of hours. Our treatments do not stain the property and do not leave an unpleasant odour. They are also perfectly safe for animals and humans. We then ask you not to clean the surfaces and floors for several days so that the treatment can take effect.
