Squirrels

Grey squirrels are in the UK in large numbers. They can cause significant damage to property as, similar to rats, they gnaw through everything including wood, piping and insulation. They will also gnaw at electric cables.

Squirrels make their nests in trees or in the garden, but they are attracted to finding space within properties such as lofts, garages and attic space. They have been known to cause significant damage, and can create a fire risk, because of their gnawing.

You will normally discover you have squirrels in your loft by the noise they make as they move around. Given the damage they make it is important to deal with the problem promptly, remove the squirrels and seal the problem entry points.
